I am a strategic human resources professional transitioning into organizational development and change management. I combine a foundation in HR and Communications with experience in organizational strategy and process improvement. I’m passionate about data-informed decision-making, creating and empowering company leaders, and the thoughtful use of AI.
I applied to UofSC without declaring a major, because I didn't have a clear vision for my career. Even when I declared Mass Communications, I was choosing based on my skills more than my future job title. It wasn't until I tried a human resources internship that I developed my career goals. With three specialties, my courses have equipped me with excellent written and verbal communications skills, Spanish proficiency, and a deep understanding of people. On top of the soft skills, my internship has taught me employee relations and recruiting skills. As you can see by looking on the Resume page, I worked under the lead Recruiter at my past job, learning about Applicant Tracking Systems, reviewing resumes, and entering information into HRIS. I have experience onboarding employees, conducting audits, using HRIS, handling confidential information, and with administrative duties. I’ve become confident that I am a valuable asset to any HR department, and I’m beyond excited to leverage these skills in a new environment. I am most excited to join a new team because I know that every department is different, and requires different techniques to be successful.
As I enter into the workforce, my biggest focus is developing my business acumen and professional relationships. Having the goal to build myself as a professional makes me a focused and efficient employee. I’m currently looking for a company that supports my growth by providing me with challenges and training in my field. My ideal job would be one that allows me to take on a broad range of responsibilities and has potential growth within the company.
